OBS ♥

okay I'm back from OBS and it was such a mad experience omg! It was all so fun and cool and amazing and very very valuable life-lessons (: I learnt a lot from doing the extremely physically demanding activities, and probably as much as the RSP trip. I am glad for this opportunity to gain many values and skills with my class 308 and the ever-friendly people from 312 too! :D

COUSTEAU FTW! ♥

Taken at Day1 where we mainly just arrived at OBS Camp1, played some ice-breakers with 308 before breaking up into groups and going to Camp2. I realised p5 camp was also at camp2 so it was really awesome being back in that place again since I thought I'd never see it again (: And though I'm not exactly looking forward to my next OBS camp in JC (that's optional), I know if given the chance, I WOULD DEFINITELY GO (:

OBS is in my blood, and it has my blood too. hahahha okay I'll tell you guys one of my highlights of the camp first alright! So it happened yesterday when we were cooking for celebratory dinner after a 7H-LONG TREK from "Shopping Centre" to "Sam Heng EST" to Camp2. Yeah so we were so happy cooking dinner and I was helping to dice the luncheon meat, mushrooms and apples. everything was alright until my first apple when I was laughing with Tracey and Celeste about how we sit like AHMAs :P HAHHA SO i got distracted and sliced my left index in that split second. I was like "OHMYGOD!"

basically after a lot of hullabaloo and even me crying cos I thought I was gonna be sent to Camp1 and never coming back etc etc, I was sent to the jetty by Michelle to go to medical centre. the speedboat was awesome omg! it was so fast like heaven ahhh. the cut was DAMN WORTH IT CAN! :D muahahahha later I arrived back for dinner (: also found out that the apple that has my blood was probably mixed with the others so...my blood is flowing in Cousteau! and and, there are some weird blood stains on the floor of Block 5 so its good to know that I left some indelible stains behind! xD

Strength is something you choose. We trekked for 7h+ with extremely heavy backpacks filled with the most nonsenical stuff like tents, mestins and other clothes plus trash. The day before we were told to find a rock on a hill at a lucky place, which supposedly imprisoned Azlan. And me, by luck, told them that lucky could be "HENG" and there was a "SAM HENG EST" so we went there. It was by far the most amazing trek I've ever been on. We set off feeling horrible, extremely demoralised, negative and downright depressed. Though we were all tired, we kept our morale up by singing Taylor Swift, Katy Perry etc. it worked pretty well (:

When we reached that HENG place, we went up to find Azlan. you can't believe how mad excited we were when we finally found it! there was this spray-painted image of a lion on the face of the rock! cool right? after that we kept singing on the way to camp2. it was so mad! when I reached the concrete of camp2 I was like screaming like crazy cos it was such a good and awesome and nice warm feeling. hahah, at least I didn't let Cousteau down with my navigating (:

Adapt to changes. Kayaking for 4h+ and having lunch in the sea was a special experience (: Capsize drill, then kayak to near camp2 for our very special lunch (: hahah after that we kayaked to "shopping centre". it was a pretty draining task cos of all the tides and currents and wind against us. we were told by our instructors that our intensity was probably equivalent to that of those who had mainly sea expedition (: in any case, kayaking was really fun and nice and I'm really glad I learnt a new skill! :D before we beach up at "Shopping Centre", we peed in the sea! xD what a unique experience for some of us lol!

Persevere no matter how hard the challenges cos nothing is impossible. We rock-climbed on a real wall made out of rock (not synthetic plastic or whatever that is). It was around 3 storeys tall. Though it wasn't particularly tough, it was still cool since it was a new experience not having something proper to grip on to climb the rock wall. I climbed both the beginner and the intermediate, then helped the others by belaying/supporting (: it was very satisfactory to see the other team mates make their way to the top with your help (:

Okay that's basically it. Thank you Cousteau and instructors for making my second OBS experience super memorable and funny and lovely (:

I AM AN OUTWARD BOUNDER!
